This is a beautiful 1890's Sheep Wagon above. As
you can see from the picture directly above, it was a bit rough when I
bought it. This old sheep wagon sat on a ranch in North Dakota
for over 50 years in the weather slowly deteriorating. To my
surprise after searching Ebay one day I found her. That was one
of the best days of my life. Most people in their right mind
would let one like this go by, but I knew what it was going to be when
I finished remaking this beauty. I first started archiving the
wagon with photos and exact measurements. Then I began to
dismantle her and burn the old rotted wood in my fire pit. What
a shame to burn history but... I then began to replace and
rebuild the running gear as well as have
Dave Engels
completely rebuild the wheels. What a craftsman he is.
He's right out of the old west. I then began to make the wagon
itself and used old growth vertical grain Douglas Fir wood for the
most of it. It has hickory wood bows and a solid Lodge Pole Pine
plank roof. There are 2 layers of canvas for the top, leather
cushion for the seats, a full pull out table, an antique stained glass
rear window, double bed, old Fisher Baby Bear woodstove, sheepskin
rugs and new bed quilts and pillows, an overhead blanket rack above
the bed and full inside and outside storage cabinets. She now
lives hidden in the hills somewhere above Vernal, Utah.
Just give me a call and I'll custom build one similar to this for you!
